Natural Scenery, one of the paintings for the 40 sceneries of Yuanmingyuan drawn in the 9th Year of Qianlong’s reign
Located to the north of Engraved Moon and Unfolding Clouds and close to Rear Lake in the west, Natural Scenery is one of the 40 sceneries of Yuanmingyuan. It was built during Kangxi’s reign, with changes and additions later.
The plant arrangement in Natural Scenery was unique. In the courtyard in the north, there is mainly a refreshing and pleasant bamboo forest. As a result, it was also called Bamboo Courtyard.
